"We just returned from the first of the three Fort Lauderdale concerts. The evening began as it should with the Maestro being formal, and the audience being increasingly enthusiastic. He felt it, the orchestra felt it. The choir accentuated it. As they melded into a unit of musical joy the audience fed their goal and they fed ours. All of a sudden the voice from nowhere announced a 20 minute break in our time with him!! If you can picture a line graph with a slight upwards progression of the line, its degrees of verticalness became more evident as the 2nd half went on. With Heather Hedley's presence the audience was struck as though a third wind came and then Andrea and she became a unit with the orchestra and we were elevated to another level of musical joy. When Anna Maria joined in again, the belt holding us all together now fit like a musically woven web that we did not want to unravel!!!
I know this may sound a bit melodramatic, but the final third of this evening had everyone filled with the musical joy Maestro Bocelli delivers so well. Finally he appeared more relaxed and able to feel the joy he so beautifully delivered.
Or was he more relaxed after he was able to have the weight of his daughter back onto the stage !!!! That was a fun and unexpected treat to see her approach him so confidently yet lovingly!
