To start let me tell you that yesterday was also my sister's birthday so I was in a dilemma, but I asked her if it was ok for me to go, she said YES, fortunately.
So we arrived, the concert started a bit late but finally it started.
The first piece was Overture from Luisa MIller, which was excellent, later Andrea came out, of course everyone gave him a big applause, he sang "Vesti la Giubba" this was the first time I heard this aria from him, I did like it, and I'm just waiting for the cd to come out here in Mexico, the concert continued and Aylin Pérez came out, I have never heard her singing but let me tell you she has a really beautiful voice, the next piece was changed it was supposed to be Panis Angelicus but instead they sang Brindisi, which is one of my favorites so I really enjoyed it and with Aylin it was even better, later there was another intervention of the orchestra, honestly I think there were many interventions of the orchestra, which I think is not that common in Andrea's concerts, but at least the orchestra was really good.
In my opinion I think that the baritone was good but not the best, I honestly didn't like his performance of votre toast, but I did like the trio of Il Trovatore, it was an aria that I was looking forward to hear.
It was the first time I ever heard Vieni Sul Mar from Andrea, I really really liked it, I think it was one of the best from the concert.
The next piece was Mamma, but before he began there was a rascal lady who screamed: "Te amo" (I love You). Of course we all laughed.
The next part of the concert were popular songs like Bésame Mucho and Somos Novios, in this second song Armando Manzanero played in the piano, it was something that was not at all expected and it turned out to be a great performance,
even though in our opinion (my father and I) did not like the voice of Nita Whitaker, and the fact that since she's american she doesn't have a good pronunciation in spanish.
To finish he sang Because We Believe, I love and will always love this song because it has a very important and personal meaning in my life, it was amazing!
But he didnt finish with this song, he also sang "Vivo per lei", "The prayer" and of course Con Te Partiro, in which there was more less a 20 minute standing ovation, we were clapping so that he sang another song but well he didnt came back to stage and that was the end of this cold and magic night!
